Max Hough

SILER CITY --   Max Hough, 86, of 1782 West Third St. died Sunday, March 10, 2002, at Randolph Hospital.

The funeral will be held at 2p.m. Wednesday, March 13, 2002, at First United Methodist Church, conducted by the Rev. Joe Casteel and the Rev. Travis Owen. Burial will be in Chatham Memorial Park.

Mr. Hough was a native of Chatham County, retired operator of the W.M. Hough Nationwide Insurance Agency for 31 years. He attended the First United Methodist Church, and was a former Sunday school teacher and deacon at Brush Creek Baptist Church. He was a longtime member of the North Carolina Cattlemen's Association, a former member of the Wildlife Association, member of the Siler City Lions Club for 34 years, and worked at the Maxton Air Force Base during World War II. He was loved by everyone.

Surviors are his wife, Virgina (Ginny) Brown Hough of Siler City; daughter, Linda H. Mitchell of Durham; step-daughter, Jane Muse of Hampstead; beloved grandson, Chris Morton and wife Michelle; great-grandsons, Wesley Morton and Ronnie Max Morton; and brother, Labon Hough of Siler City.

Visitation is from 6:30 to 8:30p.m. Tuesday, March 12, 2002, at the Smith & Buckner Funeral Home, 230 North Second Ave., Siler City.
