Additional Information: Jehugh Burke, Sr. was interred on 09/14/2001 beside his first wife, Gladys, at Moroney Methodist Church near Goldston, NC. This was their family church for many years.
Jehugh operated a barber shop in Goldson and was the Justice of the Peace for that community for many years.
Jehugh and Gladys purchased a farm from her father, Robert Joel Hough, near Goldston and raised their family there.
In fact, that farm is where my father, Willis Hoyle Hough, was born as were several other family members. RJ Hough had purchased another farm nearby several years before and built a house there from the materials he and his sons salvaged from an old school house in Goldston.
JC Burke, Jr. has told me that in his research of the Burke family, he discovered that the property he was raised on, the former RJ Hough family home, was previously owned by an ancestor of his grandfather, Sam Burke. I will be asking him for more about this information on the Johnson family, his great grandmother's family.
